Eight-year-old Joshua is battling Leukemia.
Diagnosed with stage IV Burkitt’s Lymphoma in February 2025 and later upgraded to Burkitt’s Leukemia, Joshua briefly reached remission through a rare trial drug. But the cancer returned more aggressively, and he’s now bravely facing Relapsed Refractory Burkitt’s — one of the most aggressive known cancers. His care team is exploring CAR-T therapy, and through every setback, Joshua’s warrior spirit and his family’s hope remain strong.

What is Burkitt’s Leukemia?
According to the Lymphoma Research Foundation: Burkitt lymphoma is a rare but highly aggressive form of non‑Hodgkin lymphoma that can grow extremely fast, often spreading to the bone marrow and blood.
When Burkitt’s Lymphoma spreads extensively in the bone marrow and begins to behave more like a blood cancer, it’s often referred to as Burkitt’s Leukemia. This form requires prompt and focused care. While some cases can be harder to treat, especially if initial therapies aren’t effective, there are still emerging options — and new treatments like clinical trials and advanced immunotherapies are offering renewed hope for families on this path.
