Love Transfusion, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This policy explains what information we collect on this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've kept it short so you can read it in a few minutes.

What we collect

• What you give us. When you join our list, answer a survey, pick a time to talk, make a gift or become a member, we collect what you enter. That can include your name, your email address and your answers.
• Payment details. Gifts and memberships are processed by Stripe, including Apple Pay and Google Pay where your device offers them. Gifts on our donation page can also be made through PayPal. When you pay by card, your card number and security code go straight to Stripe. We never see or store them. We may receive basic details such as the card type and its last four digits.
• Sign-in details. Members sign in with a link sent to their email address, so we keep that address on file.
• Basic visit information. Like most websites, our site and the services that run it may record things like the pages you visit, your browser type and the time of your visit. Cookies and similar browser storage help features like sign-in work. We also use Google Tag Manager, which loads tools on our pages, and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. These may use cookies to record visits to our pages.

How we use it

• To run this site and your membership.
• To process gifts and send receipts.
• To send you the updates you asked for. Every update email includes a way to unsubscribe.
• To read your feedback and make Love Transfusion better.

Who we share it with

We never sell or rent your personal information. In addition to the story information and member encouragement described below, we share personal information with services that help us run this site, and only what they need to do their job. These include Stripe and PayPal (payments), ActiveCampaign (email), Wistia (video), Calendly (scheduling), Google and Meta (site tools and visit tracking), and the companies that host the site, handle sign-in, run its search (Algolia) and deliver our emails (Resend). We may also share information when the law requires it.

Messages you send

When you send a message as a member to someone we support, it goes to that person. Our team reviews member messages before they're delivered, to keep this a safe place. Some comments left on public pages appear without that review.

The stories on this site

Stories are sent to us through our story form and may include names, photos and health information. We publish this information with approval from the recipient, or from a parent, guardian or family member when the recipient is a minor or can't give it themselves. If a story is about you, or you sent it, and you want it changed or removed, please contact us.

Your choices

• You can unsubscribe from our update emails at any time. We'll still send emails you need, like sign-in links and gift receipts.
• You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Just contact us below. We will keep the records the law requires us to keep, such as gift records for tax purposes.
• We keep personal information only as long as we need it to run Love Transfusion or as the law requires.

Children

This site isn't meant to be used by children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Some stories on this site are about people under 18.

Keeping it safe

We use trusted services and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No website can promise perfect security.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
